There is a grassy clearing lined with trees and wildflowers that goes around Wampum Lake. There is a pump a few hundred feet into the walk for water on a hot day. I don't know how they work, or who invented them, but it brings back images of pioneers pumping their water, which to them was state of the art compared to having to go out and lower a bucket into a well.
