Stilleven VI: Het Portret

"Stilleven VI: Het Portret" - painted for the Orlando Museum of Art's "Going Baroque" exhibit - the sixth in a series of works I have planned that feature "deconstructed" elements of still lifes inspired by the Dutch master painters of the 1500-1600s, along with lovely girls, faeries & nymphs (of course!). Stilleven is Dutch for "Still Life" and "Het Portret" means "The Portrait". A lot of fun details in this one, all popular elements included in famous Dutch still lifes - some of the flowers are specifically based on Jacob van Walscapelle's floral still life (which was part of the Orlando Museum of Art's "Golden Age of Painting" exhibit shown concurrently with the "Going Baroque" event). This is my own original acrylic painting, hand painted on panel. My original acrylic painting. Prints available at http://www.zazzle.com/strangeling* and http://www.strangeling.com
