This is a colored pencil painting that is based on a photograph that I took on our summer visit to Door County, Wisconsin. We stopped for lunch at a restaurant near the village of Fish Creek and out behind the restaurant we found this old woodshed complete with a rusty hand saw. I especially like old buildings because I'm sure they house many interesting stories. The winter months are cold in all of Door County and I'm very sure this old shed has done more than its part in keeping families warm over the years. I entitled this piece "Woodshed". It is done on museum quality Dura-lar polyester film using Farber-Castell Polychromos and Marshall pencils. The size of the artwork is 8 X 12 inches.

WOW, AGAIN A FANTASTIC PENCIL WORK, WILL !! THE THEME IS NOT COMMON AND I LIKE IT !!!!!!!!!!

Artist Reply: Marie-Claire: Again, thanks so much for your comments! Old buildings are very appealing and the more weathered they look, the better. I'm glad you find this piece interesting. The French country side must be filled with many interesting old buildings that hold many stories. You probably see them almost everyday. Hope all is well with you and your husband. Is he enjoying retirement? I'm sure that he is. Best regards to you both. Will

Will I like the texture and simplicity of this piece.

Artist Reply: Bonnie: thanks for your nice comment. The textured, weathered look of this old shed was the appeal. I'm glad that you find this interesting. It took a bit of patience to get this look, but it was worth it. Thanks again for looking and commenting. Best regards, Will
