This is my old homeplace in its heyday. You can see my mother's love of flowers and my dad's passion for chopping weeds. Our garden was so important to us. IT FED US! Here we have leaf lettuce, cabbage, onions, peppers, beans (2 rows), tomatoes and sweet corn. There was much more than I could show in this composition (about a half acre) but you get the idea, I hope.
