Once We Were Free

This is a painting of a buffalo from Colorado. The image is made as a remembrance of days long gone, the western frontier. Once these majestic animals covered the land of America, as abundant as the grass of the great plains. Now there are few places where they are allowed to remain free. We even harvest them as a source of food. A sad decline.
