The word stature comes from the Latin word statura, which comes from the past participle of stare, meaning "to stand". The first known use of the word was in the 14th century. Stature can refer to the height of a person, animal, or object. This is an envelope drawing measuring 9.25 by 4 inches. I used gel pen and color pencil. Original Jones Art, still limping about in northwest Austin, Texas.
