When I was a kid, we had some fights at the small rural school I attended. They were minor scuffles on average and were never, to my knowledge, taken off campus. Now school violence is so rampant, an incident must trump the worse of them to be newsworthy. What's wrong with this picture? And I'm not talking about my little sketch. This is a 6 by 4.5 inches gel pen drawing with a bit of Crayola on medium weight acid-free paper. Original Jones Art wonders why 'progress' has such a bad smell here in northwest Austin, Texas.

Boys are boys and will always play war games. I mean play and remember that you and others may seriously get hurt when you tresspass game limits. Nice art, Charles!

Artist Reply: When the 'war games' end in tragedy in our schools, we need to look at cause so we can effect change, Nikolay. Is it tied to bullying? Is bullying due to a lack of empathy? Anyway, it's just one of several things that saddens and worries this old guy. Hope you are having a good week. :)

Clever one Charles : ) Never experienced school violence but I do remember the Kent State.shootings . Awful . And on that sad note I wish you a happy Sunday

Artist Reply: The big difference between Kent State and now is that those were university students not pre-k kids or slightly older. Everything changes, they say. I just wish it were for the better. Sunday has started out nicely. I hear kids playing across the street. :)
