Very nice Shannon

Artist Reply: Thank you, Bev. I'm fond of 'im--even if he is a bit tame compared to some things I'm currently doing... :-)

this looks so good!! very unique i luv the border!!

Artist Reply: Thanks, Katerina. The border was the scariest part for me--and I'm still in that stage of scratchboard where every line feels like I'm making a huge commitment and taking a giant risk ;-)! I'd have to say that scratchboard is the scariest medium for me right now! Glad you like it! :-)

I love scrach board! You have wonderful control! Whew! Imagine a 5 foot x 7 foot scratch board!! Hmmm worth contemplating!!

Artist Reply: :-) Can't even fathom all the cool things I could do on a 5x7 foot piece of scratchboard... It'd take me forever, and yet... *drool*

I think the border could've been left out and you would have had a strong piece. I find the border distracts from your subject.

Artist Reply: Thanks for your input, Faith. I like the border. It helps add a sense of completion to an unmatted and unframed claybord piece. I also try to keep my specific audience in mind, and the border suits my buyers well. I have my own criticisms about this piece. I think my wolfie's a bit too well-groomed, but I keep in mind the piece's petite size and the rush I was in to build stock for the season. I had my own goals for the piece and I achieved most of them in retrospect. Isn't that the great thing about art, though? We all get to have our own opinions and (hopefully) learn great lessons as we go.

Artist Reply: Thank you, Lawrence. I'm the first to admit I'm still learning, too!
