The Only One

After making our way from the shady end to the sunny end of Talupus Lake, we found a log to sit on for lunch. As we were enjoying this scenery, we noticed the splash of purple in the log just off shore. The strange thing was that it was the only place we found this flower. So as my daughter sat safely on shore, I decided to walk the logs out to photograph it. You should have heard the encouragement I had...."If you fall off the log, save the camera!!" She is so much help... I got out to the log just before the one I wanted with a 3 ft. space separating the two that I wasn't going to jump. It turned out to be Pink Mountain Heather out on a log...the only place we found it on the entire hike. I will say I made it out and back without getting my feet wet!!!
