Passage to History

Last year I went back to Southern California where I grew up. I went to brunch at the famous and historical Hotel Del Coronado. (Where the movie "Some Like it Hot" was filmed.) Oh, the sights and sounds! I couldn't snap pictures fast enough! This room you see was just off to the side when you enter the grand foyer. It was empty at the time, and I couldn't help but think about all the people who had set in these chairs, famous movie stars and the anonymous people like you and me. If those walls could talk, what stories would they tell me? I painted this to remember all those people I will never meet, but we shared this place together for just a moment in time.
