Umber Bridge is an abstract representation of the Humber Bridge in that the Burnt Umber paint used in the painting bridges across the 4 canvas squares. Using a background colour of Soft Suede emulsion, the sweeping rivers of colour straddling the painting are done in Burnt Sienna ( 2 different brands of acrylic paint - Reeves and Boldmere were used for these) Burnt Umber and Yellow Ochre in acrylic. I then outlined each "river" shape with either gold or silver metallic acrylic paint for added definition.
