Green Opulence 1

A very rich and classy painting which has been created using a palette knife and two colours only. Simple, yet stunning. Sap Green and Old Gold were mixed together on the card and blended beautifully across with sweeping strokes of the knife. Where the knife didn't quite touch the card you get the effect of lighter shades within the image. When I painted this I had a very calming emotive feel as an intended response for the viewer. However, as with all abstract art, it is entirely up to you how you see it. This includes the preferred way to hang the painting. This painting is rather sensual, it gives the feeling of flowing silk or some other such opulent material. The colours are autumnal and rich combined. It has been framed in a rustic style frame for added autumnal effect, which is glazed and has a "U" style fitting at the back to hold the painting upright. The painting is mounted with a bottle green surround which contrast nicely against the gold appearance. The painting is 4 x 6 inches and is for sale on my minigallery website -check out my profile for details.
