Hi Irma, there are a few bait shops at the beginning of the dike and you can buy some talcke there but if you are going to buy something it might be a good idea to go to one of the local Academy Sporting goods stores, they have people that can get you setup without spending too much. You might want to consider a fishing license as well.Dead shrimp on the bottom with a Carolina rig is easy and will catch fish. Buy a few extra Carolina setups, you will lose some in the rocksRon, yes, your rods and reels are probably fine just remember to wash them off with fresh water right away or the salt will eat them up. There is some beach areas to play but there can be some bad currents.
