Mother of Stars

I had a vague impression of a deity/archetype at night which came from reading "The Merchant and the Genius[sic]", the first tale -- in which others are nested -- of the Arabian Nights (read online at http://www.gutenberg.org/dirs/etext94/arabn11.txt). I wanted to approach the telling of tales more slantwise, though, probably because of the way Scheherazade was nesting tales within tales. The title I'm using now came later, though. Pleased with some aspects (no pun) of how this came out, not so much with others. Original is on 4x4 Arches... coldpress I think, but on the less-toothed side. Jackson and Winsor&Newton watercolors. Still so incredibly much to learn and practice.

Gorgeous work on this Kirsten! Beautiful dreamlike painting! :)

Artist Reply: Thank you, Carrie. My sweetie calls this "Mother of Dreams", actually. :)
