I recently scanned a colored pencil drawing of Ace Frehley, lead guitarist of the "Greatest Band in the World - KISS!!!" I used the computer to cut his image out and place him on a black background. I next chose a color palette and air brushed all that you see and tried to make it look as photorealistic as I could. I also added the smoke rising from his guitar with my graphics program. This was one of my first attempts at using the computer to "construct" an artwork and it certainly doesn't standup to close inspection but I did this all without using a tablet - and it's just a lot more challenging to do this with a mouse. All in all - a FUN learning project.
