These photos were taken in December of 2004, a new and beautiful bridge. We had run into the trail crew on a hike in October, as they were just getting set up to replace the broken bridge. They assured us that it would still be there when we got back from the lakes. It was so funny as two very kind guys offered to help us cross it....we had crossed it 5 or 6 times since January all by ourselves. As I mentioned (a few photos back), there were 12 people expecting to be there 10 days to complete the job. They did good, huh!! The 1st photo, in the upper right, shows where the offending tree came from. It snapped like a match 10 ft. above ground. They used that tree to replace the bridge. Mother Nature is amazing, powerful and unpredictable. We will always be in awe of her as we tread on her earth, cross her waters and breathe her air.
