The Figeater-Bottom

This is my 50th painting of the day listed on Artwanted. It's the last of the Figeater beetle paintings, at least for awhile. This painting was especially challenging. I had difficulty describing the intense metallic sheen acurately, without resorting to using white. I'm very happy with it now. This image is blurry. "The Figeater-Bottom", 4"x6" oil on deep, gallery-wrapped canvas.SOLD

aaaah, he looks like he wants to get up and fly away, like he is begging...sad. Pretty little bug. I like most bugs they are very interesting and cool looking, Fantastic work here.

Artist Reply: He wasn't begging at all Christine as he was already deceased. I'm sure he was at the end of his life cycle since he was in perfect condition when I found him. You have such a sweet and tender heart. I find most bugs beautiful as well, which is why I painted him three times. Thanx for the comment. I appreciate it. Blessings, Jeanie
