Last Sunday was a perfect day to head for the hills...so we did. We wanted to try to make it to 2nd Burroughs Mt. out of Sunrise Visitor's Center. Our daughter and I had made this hike a dozen times in the past 5 years, but this was my husband's 1st trip. (We are still working on getting into hiking shape and are making progress.) We stopped for lunch at the top of 1st Burroughs and debated if we wanted to continue. It was 2.5 miles and quite a climb to get here. In the 1st photo, my husband is sitting in the rocks on the right, with the trail to 2nd Burroughs in the background. After a good lunch and a short rest we gave it a shot. In the 2nd photo, he is cresting 2nd Burroughs and in total awe of the magnificent view. Emmons Glacier and Tahoma Peak are the background in this photo. We were so glad that we decided to continue!!! I'll post more of this day tomorrow.... :) Thanks for coming with us!!!
