This gardenia bloomed on my little tree on Friday. I caught the fragrance as I was entering my studio. I was looking for a glass bowl to float it in, when I spotted the pair of Riedel burgundy glasses that my son Danny gave to me for Mother's Day. Since they each hold 37 ounces, I knew one would be perfect to float the gardenia in, with the right amount of water to be able to view it from above and below. I just bought a whole drawerful of acrylics, so I decided to try them out with this painting. Next time the plant blooms, I'll try to paint it in oils. "Gardenia Floated in a Wine Glass". 8"x10", acrylic on Belgian linen panel. SOLD
