Tornado: the second of a series of various weatherwomen. (Snowstorm is the first)
Winsor & Newton watercolors and iridescent medium on an Arches hotpress ACEO blank from Ellen Million Graphics.
The scan was surprisingly good at picking up the greens (I'm so used to
losing some blues...) The silvery iridescent medium was used to border some of the curving lines within the tornado itself, but the scanner is unable to replicate that sparkle. As before, I left the image small, because the original is, although the scan was at 600 dpi in case I feel like making prints. (After all, I've already made prints of Snowstorm)
This too was delightful to do. I'm not as pleased with this one; the face isn't as delicate as I'd hoped (partly me, partly having abused my tiny brush on the last one with paint and iridescent stuff and masking fluid -- I went off and got new brushes after scanning this). Maybe too because she's farther from the viewer in this one?
And I've already finished the sketch and a wash for the next one, and figured out what the other 2 after that will be. Heh!
