Way to go my friend. My kind of painting and You've done a FANTASTIC job on it!
Artist Reply: Thank you, John. I was trying something new here. I had taken the reference photo from a boat, which was very close to the shore. Before starting the painting, I spray painted the canvas surface with black acrylic paint, then used a lot of transparent colors, except of course, for the trees. It was a fun experiment and I was happy with the results.
This painting is lovely. It puts the viewer right there on the water looking at the beautiful and calm scene. Fantastic reflection technique, Joan!
Artist Reply: Thank you so much, Deborah. You nailed it when you said it puts the viewer right in the water. I took my research photos for this painting while on a boat ride with 2 friends who were also getting research photos for paintings.
