Every now and then I need to back off from pure landscape or still life and do something which is a little different (for me)...it's really necessary to keep creative and motivated. And we certainly live in an area with many beautiful pastoral scenes including animals. Our neighbor has a pony which morosely hangs its head by the fence when the weather is damp and drippy; this time he inspired me to paint. With a simple scene like this, there aren't many layers or stages, just a quick background with simple shapes brushed in in what is almost a monochromatic palette. Pleaae don't distribute this image commercially; but feel free to promote my art with this thumbnail! Thank you for being a supporter of the arts, and remember that I accept commissions and will be offering watercolor classes at the intermediate level in the north Atlanta area soon.
