Forest Fire ACEO

Forest Fire: the third of a series of various weatherwomen.

Winsor & Newton watercolors on an Arches hotpress ACEO blank from Ellen Million Graphics [link] No iridescences on this one (yet?) because I don't have an iridescent gold. Recommendations for an iridescent gold would be very welcome. Or copper. Or possibly bronze. This feels like it needs that, but all I can do about it now is make a wishlist at Cheap Joe's [link] I guess, and wonder if those will work (once I can scrounge the money for them) (I may also try diluting gold metallic paint marker...but with what? )

The clouds are very slightly more green in the scan than in the original (as usual, the scanner has a bit of trouble with blues) and the sky is slightly more intense in the scan.

There are some subtle differences in this compared to my original sketch and wash; I like the trees much better here but some grace vanished from her gesture: she's more thoughtful and less intentional/mysterious in the ACEO version.

See also Snowstorm [link] and Tornado [link] .

Artist Reply: Tyler, thanks! I spent about 40 minutes poking through your site, going "ooh!" and "I wish I'd thought of that" and "Hah! Fun!", so I guess we have a little bit of mutual fan thing ... How wonderful!
