This is a little oil sketch I just finished (almost) of my paternal grandmother. She was called "Mimsy" by her friends, and she was quite a lady! I wish she hadn't smoked those cigarettes, but that million dollar smile outshines the one in her hand, I think. Those were different times, and the photo this sketch was done from was from the 40's, I think. I accept commissions for portrait sketches like this: if you're interested, email me or check out my commission listings on ebay (look up ebay seller "susankennedy".) I think I just listed an 8" x 10" portrait item (an oil on canvas paper like this one) on ebay for $130, my special price while I learn portraiture a bit more! And of course, if you don't like it, you don't have to pay, I'll just chalk it up to practice! (But of course, you don't get the painting either! )
