Basically,in this painting, enigma illusionist Jon Jaylo illustrates the narration of a simple, yet morally relevant story. It is plainly a simple tale of a once, run of the mill couple who suddenly turned into previleged elites due to some fortunate twist in fate. All they wanted was to help the people with their altruistic idealisms, but power soon corrupted their souls and their once genuine hearts are now tainted by the stains of earthly temptation. And this is what a came of them,a painting entitled "Reluctant Givers" Jaylo retained his customary trademark of depicting his figures in an eerie, faceless rendition, which according to him symbolize the universal ambiguity of his creations. They can range from anyone to everyone. He wants them to be general, because chiefly, his allegorical messages are bound to be consumed by the general public itself, turning it into a silent song of national revolution. He portrayed the images of eating utensils as heads because he believes that this symbolizes their gluttonous nature of eat all, give none. They indulge in a bountiful, sybaritic dinner and yet,the people beneath them are only given a small piece of bone for consumption.Ironic as it is,this is actually our present situation. They are basically those people who give for formality sake, but in reality they dont really give with their hearts, but withits lustful desire to be recognized. They symphatize to the unfortunate as if they do,but in reality, all they do is lay their human waste and feed it to the people. In fact this is also shown in the painting,in where they eat with the people to create a semi-realistic feel that they empathize with them.Their manor atop the tree rests higher than the mountains in the audience viewpoint, which signifies that it is actually reachable, but there is a certain illusion that makes them unreachable and in accessible to the brooding peasants in the painting.According to the artist,he created a vague resemblance of a familiar office for it to symbolize any unreachable haven of an elitist,a certain unreachable place that we all have heard of once in our lives. most of the widespread hunger in a world of plenty results from grinding, deeply rooted poverty. In any given year, however, between 5 and 10 percent of the total can be traced to specific events: Political,Armed Conflict,Social and Economic disruption, lastly droughts or floods. This year,854 million people across the world are hungry and malnourished.Six million children under the age of 5 die every year as a result of hunger.According to Jaylo, this survival rate would be impossible for those unfortunate, destitute soul unless a kind heart would emerge down and help them.Simply the artist created this painting to inspire people with the one word that our Creator had always told us to do.A word simple and basic that we sometimes strip it off from the truest and purest essence....Help.
