Blackberry Blossoms

Every day we walk the Deep Lake trail...at least 2 laps... and each time, we see the subtle changes as the seasons turn. These blossoms are just getting started, as are the other forest flowers....spring is soooo late. These are the little blackberries that it takes about a million of them to make a pie. One of my husband's fondest memories of his mother are of the blackberry roll she used to make. Out of the 5 sons, he was the only one who would go out and pick the blackberries for her to make this special treat. She would always make a separate little roll just for him.... :-) HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!! Thanks so much for stopping by, my friends!!!!

Blackberries are my favorite fruit, and these are really gorgeous photos of them! I have both wild and domestic berry plants on my property, but the racoons and bears always seem to beat me to the patches!

I used to pick raspberries and black berries in my youth. I still like the pies. The scratches and the mosquitoes were what I did not like! My grandparents had two patches of both the domestic varieties. My brother and I would pick them. These look about the same.

So that's what those flowers are, I see them all the time in the woods. Beautiful shot!
