The Palisades Trail (Hwy 410)

This steep trail follows a narrow ravine with lots and lots of switchbacks. From the trailhead to the top of this massive rock formation, the elevation raises 1100 ft. in 3.2 miles. There are a few flat stretches, like in these photos, but most of the time it's uphill, sometimes very steep. Second photo....Sometimes the switchbacks are right on top of each other.

All lovely photos, Mary. This one is my favorite. It is really green here in Colorado this year too due to many afternoon rainstorms....but it still ain't Washington!!! Thanks for taking me along on your hikes!

A "magic" place... the trees and the green leaves are so peaceful, Mary, and the light... splendid!!! Great photo also.
