I Vampiri: Bellissimo Letto

The first in my new series of paintings called "I Vampiri" (which is Italian for The Vampires) - a new line of paintings that feature vampire beauties inspired by Italian Baroque & Italian Renaissance themes and aesthetics. This first painting is called "I Vampiri: Bellissimo Letto" (which means "the beautiful bed) and it is a BEAUTY! This really is a gorgeous painting - a vampiress in her Renaissance finery - standing in front of an ornate bed and clutching a goblet. At first it may appear to simply be a lovely noblewoman, but upon closer inspection you may notice the hint of a bloody disturbance in the background - are those bloodstained handprints on the wall? Are those pearly fangs at her lips? And what is that mysterious red fluid in her chalice? Hmmm.... This is a LUSH painting - the subtle sfumato paired with the deep jeweltones really makes this piece special. My own original acrylic painting. ©Jasmine Becket-Griffith - prints are available at http://www.strangeling.com and http://zazzle.com/strangeling*
