Watch Your Step...

After devouring our lunch, I headed out to get pictures from different vantage points. I had to be careful as much of the shoreline was hidden in ice and snow. Where the ground was visible, it was very mushy, soggy, squishy....you get the idea!! This is when you find the Broad-leaved Marsh Marigold scattered along the shore. It's even to early for Avalanche Lilies, the other flower that loves the snow. They are just starting to come up...in a week or two, they will be plentiful, too. (Everything here is SO late...more like mid-June than mid-July.) When the snow is finally gone and the ground dries out, these flowers will be gone.
