Before 2004, there was NO view of Mt. Rainier from this trail. You hiked it for the challenge, the Mowich River Valley or just to catch a part of the Wonderland Trail. After the powerful windstorm cleared the hillside, this amazing view of Mt. Rainier was revealed. You need to drop down a couple of switchbacks to see this awesome sight, but it's TOTALLY worth it!!! (OK, Trixi...you can turn back now...)
