Self Portrait

Anne Kelty: Dec. 24th, 1938 to Sept. 23rd, 2006. Cherished wife, mother, grandmother. Wonderful artist and delightful friend. Lost to breast cancer. Thank you to all those in the artwanted community that supported and cheered her on.

Anne had been drawing since she could first hold a crayon. Her particular interest had always been animal portraits. Recently, she'd done several commissioned portraits in oil as well as scratch board and colored pencil and graphite pencil and pastel. She also did portraits of people in those mediums. She switched back and forth between tightly controlled scratch art and loose and free oil and pastel painting just to keep her creativity flowing.

She was primarily self taught, although she had taken some courses under great artists such as Herbie Rose and Jean Chambers.

She loved her art, she loved her subjects. She believed it came from the heart, it would touch the heart. Throughout her life, strove to grow and learn and to reach out to others' hearts with my art.
