Thank you all so much for the positive and inspiring comments on the few works I have shown here. I suffered a serious stroke Oct 14, 2005. I have been undergoing physical and occupational therapy since then. I kept my artist interests under wraps throughout my life while raising a beautiful family. I just started oil painting in Sept 2004 and started actively exhibiting my work in the spring of 2005. The stroke soon after. The first few months I tried desperately to paint again but the frustration of needing two good hands for the most menial tasks such has paint cap /thinner caps, clean-up was just overwhelming and I feared it to be the end of a short career. My family continued to encourage me by reminding me that I first was a pencil artist and maybe that wouldn't be as difficult. I started simply and through the pencil have regained some skill as well as confidence that as a family we will overcome this. Theoretically, as I breathe life into my subjects I breathe life into my own existence
