What is your muse?

I have just joined this group and am so happy that I found you all! Just wondered how you people get inspired ??

I tend to paint using my inner space as an inspiration. Must admit my mood affects the painting. Also if I don't paint for a few days it usually takes me a while to get back into it.

Best wishes all Leyla

When I am inspired or I'm hit with a spark of ingenuity, I usually write it down or do a thumbnail sketch. Now I have a number of paintings to do, but can't always get to all of them. Secondly, you have collections of work, so when doing a series, you can go on and on with different colors, shapes and perspectives. I have this music collection called "Rhythm and Intrigue" that I have only done four paintings. I got atleast the colorwheel amount to finish...

Blank canvases. I just love the smell and newness of a freshly opened canvas with all that whiteness waiting for me to fill. I used to spend ages planning what I was going to paint, now I just attack the work and let it flow as it will.

I'm with Amanda, except I first destroy that white canvas, then let it talk to me.

Textures around me. Floor littered with dripped colors, My hands with color all over and yea, how the process of painting moves my body around, what it does to me. I love textures, such beautiful images of things in transition.
