Names of Voters Released

As promised, we are now displaying the names of those that have voted for your artwork in your members area (better late than never, right).

To see the names of those that have voted, you must have voted for at least 500 images on our site. Why? Because we want to encourage more voting on the site, so this was one way of doing it. ;-)

Once you have done this, go to your members area and click on the PORTFOLIO STATISTICS page, then click on the DETAILS link next to any image you want to look up. Then click on VIEW VOTER BREAKDOWN link to view the name, date/time and rating received.

We 'brace for impact' as we open the names to the public. We don't know what the effect will be, but hopefully it's a good one. We hope that this decision will:

  • Reduce the number of 'lowballers', because their names are now known.
  • Reduce the number of e-mails we get about ratings, because they can be looked up at anytime.
  • Cause people to think more about every vote they give.
  • Cause people to 'skip' an image they don't like, rather then giving a low score.

WARNINGS!

1) If you see a low vote from another member, we strongly encourage you NOT contact the artist directly about their voting habits. No one wants to get a bunch of e-mails from disgruntled artists, saying that your vote was a tad lower then what they deserve.

2) Revenge voting will not be tolerated! If we catch you giving an artist a low rating, because they gave you one...your ratings privileges will be revoked on our site.

3) Slamming other artists on the message boards due to low votes or e-mails received will also not be tolerated. Doing so may also cause banning from the message boards and/or rating system. If you have a problem with a member, take it up with us, not the public.

4) If you feel like you have been deliberately attacked by another member with low scores, contact us about it. We will handle it, don't take it into your own hands. We are able to see the 'whole picture' and determine if this person just didn't like your picture or if they truly wanted to knock down your average rating.

Ok, enough of that. Just have fun and happy voting!

Warnings will be going out to all members next week in an e-mail and everyone is going to have to read and agree to a 'voting guidelines' page for them to be able to vote.

Glad you like it. We hope that it will cut down on some of the problems we have had.
