Well, photography was an interest, ever since I got my first camera for Christmas in the year 2004. I was seventeen, and it was about as beginner as you can get, an Aiptek DV3100. No more than $40 I would say. No flash, so night shots were out of the question. On occasion I would get something good shot with it, but if you did not hold it extremely still, a lot of photos would become blurred. As with any camera, you came to learn how to get the best out of it. I found its capability of making videos more exciting, as I lived in a small town at the time. Not much else to do with your free time, but sit on the front porch with a glass of lemonade or sweet tea, and watch the cows graze across the road! (No, I am not over-exaggerating about the cows). It did also record, so I got into making my own videos of just about anything me and friends could think of making one about, and working with what I had, you know. It was a lot of fun back then. (Disclaimer: No cows were tipped in the making of said videos). As with all or most beginners, I "edited" with Windows Movie Maker. Yeah, not afraid to admit it. =)

I believe four years later, I got a 7.2 megapixel Sony Cybershot DSC-W55 as a graduation from college gift around the summer of 2008. This camera allowed for slightly more experimentation in regards to ISO settings and that sort of thing. The Cybershot is the camera responsible for my famous "Reflections" photo, taken one early morning of the trees above the lake in my father's backyard being strewn across the water. Truly one of the pictures I am the most proud of shooting.

Fast forward to three years later, and I am now two years away from receiving my bachelor's degree in film making, but my love for photography has not lessened one bit. I have access to simply the most amazing camera I have ever had the privilege of using: the Canon EOS 7D. Stunning video and photography. I have to admit I never personally gained any experience with it during the shooting of student shorts, because I was always responsible for another area of production (sound, lighting, etc). April 2011 has been my first time ever experimenting with the 7D, and I instantly fell in love with its capabilities from the first day I used it.
