This was an acrylic painting that had done a couple years ago that I never thought was complete ("this happens alot!") so recently I got the idea to add the actual portions of trees that weren't present in the original painting!
Really clever!-Go to the top of the class young man!

The dream-like state of dusk, where the eye plays tricks and Surrealists hide in the bushes moving reality around to confuse us...wonderfully strange piece, Steve; Magrittesque and Escherlike, very cool
Artist Reply: Thanks for your AWESOME comments, Herman!!! ^_^
Wow Steve! I love your surreal trees. What fun! Such a brilliant concept. Really fresh and original. So unique. I just love them. Brilliant artwork!
Artist Reply: Thanks so much, Rusty! Its just amazing how this painting just sat there a couple years just waiting for a good idea to make it complete! Take care!! ^_^
I like that it took me a while to notice the parts of the trees missing along the treeline - your eye/brain makes the picture "make sense" then the real image comes through slowly the more you look. It's really interesting to me how we do that - adapt things that don't make sense without even knowing it. THIS IS A FANTASTIC SURREAL PAINTING MY FRIEND!!!
Artist Reply: You nailed it , my friend! It is so amasing how our mind sees what it expects to see even when we don't really see it!! Glad you like!!! ^)^
What a fantastic image....I love the idea...and the purples are gorgeous
Artist Reply: Thanks so much , Renata!! You know what I mean about when you"re "done with a painting", but it seems to be missing something and you don't know what it is? So It finally came to me ( a couple yrs later! LOL!!) ^_^
exciting work.. sometimes it takes years to complete certain works. and only by a quick dash of a paint brush does it come together as well as this did... good work..
Artist Reply: This is soooo true, Barbara! Thanks so much for your wonderful words!!!
