Tús agus deireadh an duine tarraingt ar an tine. The beginning and the end of one's life is to draw closer to the fire- Irish Proverb ~ Slán leat, Lara
Wow, there seems to be a figure within the flames! The fire spirit is looking right at us! Outstanding placement of negative space -- makes me feel like I'm standing there too.
Artist Reply: Thanks Tree! I always love hearing from you! I miss you all over there---I truly wish I was there with you guys this weekend, it would do my spirit good. All my love, Lara
Lara, are you Irish then. Almost family. Another of your lovely images to ponder, the drama of the negative space causes the fire to take on more dimension, and the realism turns to surrealism. Wonderful feeling and very nostalgic for me. I thank you dearly for the memories. miguel
Artist Reply: It is funny, I sat at this fire and I thought about life. The first homes had a fire like this at it's center, the hearth, and it gave the home warmth and cooked food and provided the place to tell jokes and stories and riddles. Even visitors, whether friends or strangers never told their business at the door, but when they were comfortably seated at the hearth. It was the heart of the home, and that transitioned to a contained fireplace, then a wood stove, then an oven, then mostly canned, boxed, and fast food heated in a microwave. I still make the majority of my meals from scratch and cook them in an oven, but i yearn for something that is less simple but more wholesome. I want a hearth again, or at the very least a good wood fireplace. Summer bonfires will never be enough. ~Lara
We used to have tons of bonfires in the back nine...Nice picture, Lara~!! Can you also tell me how to put the protector on the image?? (I read somewhere in the message board that few people had them, so I have been right clicking to find one...and you have it~!! Yessss, my search is over..) I would love to have that put on mine too... thanking you in advance... :) Cheers,
