Trail At Wason Pond

The path invites the viewer on in.
My sketchpad can't contain the tall pines reaching out of the New Hampshire soil as they grow up and out of frame.
Golden needles had just carpeted the floor of the woods after an October storm.

The zoomed image below focuses on the trail . . .
brush in the foreground;
huge tree stump halfway up;
white rock at the top of the path.

This was my 2nd on-location painting, and 2nd time using oil pastels.
(1st plein air was "Sisters At Wason Pond")
