Auction at La Casa Encendida

© 2006 Armando Salas (artwork) © 2006 Reporters Sans Frontières (photo).----- From November 13 to 20, collective exhibition ( 52 Spanish cartoonists) at La Casa Encendida (Madrid-Spain), organized by Reporters Sans Frontières. Theme: Free speech in Press. On November 20, the original artwork was sold in an auction. Upper photo: my original artwork, a tribute to Anna Politkovskaya. Bottom image: Auction at La Casa Encendida, a very beautiful building. This cartoon (digital version, of course) is nowadays participating in a collective exhibition on-line in Russia. Link: http://www.cartoon-expo.com/ Politkovskaya/thumbnails_view _anna.html ------------- November 30. Just received a phone call from Reporters Sans Frontières. My original cartoon was sold to Asociación de la Prensa de Cádiz. And the wonderful news: My cartoon was chosen to do the official poster; it will be distributed freely all over the World. :-)))

If you believe in freedom of the press,...freedom to speak the truth,....why is the 'true' knowledge of the events in 'the garden' hidden?

Artist Reply: Sorry, I don't understand your question, I mean, the "sense" of your question. My poor English. Can you please do the question by using different words? Thank you.

Hello Armando! Thank you again for the participating in our exhibition. This work is really very expressive. It was actually published in the Czech magazine next to the info about our show. (plz check this link "E-GAG" at our front page.) In 2007 we are planning two conventional exhibitions in Moscow: at the Novaya Gazeta publishing house and at the XXVI IFJ (International Federation of Journalists) World Congress.
