A Tribute to Chewy

Midnight Dreamer Studio I drew this from some pictures of a cute little maltese that was owned by one of my close friends mother, this wonderful dog is gone now and she misses him very much, I hope this portrait helps her :) What do you guys think? I have never in my life tried to draw one of these fluffy lil pups :)

Your animal sketches are really quite good, You are managing to catch a personality in each portrait. Watch for 'hard' lines within the features.

Artist Reply: Thank you very much my friend : ) This portrait is a little older, i think I have gotten better with the 'hard lines' I enjoy you work by the way : )

I'm speechless! The first time you drew a doggy like this?? It's fantastic! (and I can imagine that his owner misses him very much. )

This is adorable, Leah, white fur is so difficult but you've made it look easy. Love the expression in his eyes. Most excellent pencil work!! LouAnn

I like most of your animal portraits, but this is my favourite, if you have captured the true character of this little dog, then I can imagine he was full of a very gentle kind of miscief; I firmly believe that animals - dogs in particular - do have a well developed sense of humour, in this little sweetie it can be clearly seen. I lost my dear companion of over sixteen years just five weeks ago; I do wish that I had the special talent needed to capture the essence of him in a painting.
