Mutability

This is a drawing from February, 1973. I was looking 'beneath the skin' a lot in those days. The guy on the left 'could' be me. Uh, so could the guy on the right. ;) This is a ball-point pen drawing measuring 12 by 9 inches. Obviously, this is Original Jones Art handmade in Austin, Texas.

Wow! What type of pen do you use?

Artist Reply: Hey, I didn't see a reply to that question, Rebecca, so I thought I'd rectify my oversight. At the time--this was the 70's BTW--I usually used a BIC ink pen. At one time they were 19 cents. You could buy 5 for around a dollar. Trouble with them was/is they fade and brown over time with exposure to light/radiation. Several of my drawings from this period that I actually framed and hung then---like 'There was a quality in his face that left one puzzled for adjectives' show this. I researched gel pens and their 'permanence factor' before I started using them in the late 90's---when they were relatively 'new' to the market. ---Chas
