Last night was the ANA 15th Annual Regional Awards Reception at the Arts Center of the Ozarks in Springdale Arkansas. This art competition encompasses 10 states, Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, & Texas. This year there was a record number of entries, over 400; 105 oils, acrylics, watercolors, mixed medias, 3-dimensionals, photographs, pastels were chosen for the show. The Judge was from Dallas Texas. This was the first time I had ever entered this competition, and I was so honored to have my watercolor “Alma Creek” chosen to be in this show. And to have it win Best in Water Media/Mixed Media (First Place), makes me Very Happy. By the way, the best of show winner was a 3-dimensional art and both 2nd & 3rd places were photographs. It was Very well attended with tons and tons of people there. Hope that you enjoy! This watercolor is now in the Permanent Collection of the Fort Smith Regional Art Museum.

Good talent will be recognized, but great talent will always be celebrated and given awards. So much talent at that show and the cream of artists rose to the top. Belated (I just met you!) but very sincere congratulations!James Lanigan-Thompson 27 Jun 2010

Fabulous Sharon!!!! And one of the judges was obviously brilliant if her surname is anything to go by!! Tell her she's descended from the Farquharson clan from Balmoral in Scotland (where the Queen lives in Summer). Your support has been much appreciated. You radiate love - please continue to do that.
