Autonoe

This is abstract painting on canvas. The style is defined by sculptural use of paint. It is 3-D, built-up mixture of many layers of thick gesso, paint, sand and other materials. I'm inspired by the structure of Jupiter's Moons. This one was inspired by the surface of the satellite called Autonoe. It was discovered by a team of astronomers from the University of Hawaii led by Scott S. Sheppard in 2001. It belongs to the Pasiphae group, irregular retrograde moons orbiting Jupiter. utonoe was named in August 2003 after the Greek mythological figure Autonoë, conquest of Jupiter, mother of the Gracies. Finished with a glaze of UV varnish to protect against sunlight and dust damage. The colors may look a little bit different depending on the screen. This artwork is signed and dated on the back. A signed Certificate Of Authenticity will be included with the artwork. Edges are painted so it doesn't require any frame. Size: 60 H 120 W x 2 cm, 24" x 47" x 0.8" Please feel free to contact me if you would like to ask any questions. __________________________________________________ © Pamela Rys
