I've always thought Joyce's title was superb even if the novel was a bit of a hard nut to crack. I had started this piece stupidly---with a regular ink pen, then decided to go over that with the more permanent gel. I found my eyesight and/or hand wasn't 100 percent up to the challenge. BUT I thought it came out tolerably well in the end. This is a 6 by 4.5 inches gel pen with color pencil drawing. Original Jones Art wonders if, when it's all over, it will have been worth the effort here in northwest Austin, Texas.

The intense black really makes the portrait stand out more and the colors also . I say cool , Charles : )

Artist Reply: I went over the black with a deep blue, Dave. What!? You can't say 'dope?' Speaking of cool, it IS somewhat cooler today though my stuff is drying nicely out front. I'm still in a quandary as to how to proceed. It'll work out---I think. :)"
