Joan I painted back in the 80's also from the "Seascapes" book, it is an amazing image.

Artist Reply: Yes, it is. I found those books extremely helpful when I was still learning composition and controlling the oils. That painting belongs to one of my daughters now. Do you still have your lighthouse painting? If so, I would love to see it. It`s very interesting to see how different artists interpret the same subject. I am currently working on a lighthouse on Lake Superior, using my own photographs, a book of Michigan Lighthouse, and a few photos I downloaded from the Internet. When I was around half finished with my painting, I was browsing this site and found another artists interpretation of the same lighthouse. It was nothing at all like mine.
