One Sunday morning after church I took several photos of Edith wearing one of her lovely hats. In this portrait I wanted to portray her exactly as she is - a very sincere, classy lady.

excellent work , so much emotion captured. I am compelled to say though I feel some sort of sadness in her eyes, maybe just reflecting or maybe I am just projecting...either way very intense beautiful work!!

Sherrie...this is an absolutly brilliant pastel portrait!! What color paper did you use?? Actually looks like a photo!! Very classy lady indeed!!!

Artist Reply: Hello, Ruth I'm not sure if I replied to your email, but thank you for your compliment on Edith's portrait. For the paper I used a white Strathmore Bristol. I also used colored pencil for some of the detail that is harder to get with pastel sticks (i.e, eyes and lips).
